PERSONAL AUTO INSURANCE TIPS 1. Have you considered higher comprehensive or collision deductibles on your auto policy? 2. If your car is 6-8 years old you may not need collision insurance anymore. 3. Have you asked your agent about the multitude of discounts available on your auto policy? They include: age 55, safe driver, air bags, anti-lock brakes, alarm systems, car pooling, etc. 4. Are you sure your car is properly classified? Rates vary based on usage. 5. If your car gets low annual mileage you may be entitled to a discount. 6. If you have paid off your car, be sure to remove the bank. 7. Make sure you have qualifying health insurance if you carry low medical limits on your car insurance! 8. Are you properly covered for loss of income? 9. Uninsured and underinsured motorist coverage can be offered in many combinations. Be sure to review this with your agent to be sure you've arranged the right benefits for you. 10. Sue... sue... sue! Liability claims can ruin you financially. Be CERTAIN you have adequate, up-to-date coverage for bodily injury and property damage. 11. Do you have an: RV, snowmobile, four-wheeler, trailer, cap, camper, snowplow, motorcycle, etc.? If you own any of these, please call your agent; insurance coverage for these items can be very restrictive! 12. Auto policies limit benefits on car phones, stereo systems, cd's and cassettes. 13. Before renting a car on vacation, be sure to call your agent! 14. Extra features on your policy cost little and can save a lot. Consider features like road service, "gap" insurance, and extraordinary medical. 15. Shop... shop... shop! Auto insurance rates DO vary. Consumer groups recommend periodic comparison shopping and we do too! Copyright (C) 2004 CD Baker Insurance Site built and maintained by solutionsmart, inc |
